The Blind Beast

Aaron Vnuk knows a thing or two about Blind Faith.

Once a talented baseball pitcher with a wicked curveball and a shot at the Cincinnati Reds, Aaron’s life changed during a fall game when his vision began to blur. He could no longer see the catcher’s signals. Within days, he was at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary—and soon diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP), a rare genetic condition that would eventually take his eyesight.

His dreams of pro baseball were over. His identity was shaken. But his fight had only begun.

Aaron refused to be defeated. He earned a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science & Health Promotion and a Master’s in School Counseling. He adopted the mindset of a warrior and sought a training system that would prepare him not just physically—but mentally—for the adversity life had dealt him.

Why the Name “Blind Faith”?

In 2025—twenty years after Aaron lost his vision—Lauren gave the gym a new name. One that honored their journey, their resilience, and their purpose.

Aaron often says he sees more clearly now than ever before. He believes there’s a greater plan for each of us, and that some truths can only be seen through the eyes of the blind.

That’s where Blind Faith was born.

We’re so glad you’ve found us—and we hope you take your next leap of fitness, and of life, with Blind Faith.

Our Story

In August 2023, Aaron Vnuk and his wife, Lauren, purchased North Haven CrossFit. Aaron’s brother, Adam, joined the team to help with the overwhelming process. The trio knew they had a lot to learn about the gym business. What they did have was a powerful vision and unshakable belief that faith, family, and hard work could create something extraordinary.

They saw more than a gym. They envisioned a home for people who wanted real results, a place that stood for grit, truth, and transformation. Inside those walls, they committed to building a training center grounded in five core beliefs:

  • A serious, no-fluff environment where people come to train—not pose.

  • A rejection of fitness fads and trendy gimmicks.

  • A focus on what actually works: CrossFit, Hyrox, and Functional Fitness.

  • A group coaching model that prioritizes proper technique, progress, and accountability.

  • A fitness family that welcomes all ages and abilities, including the most comprehensive CrossFit Kids Program in Connecticut.

Our CrossFit & Hyrox experience is unlike any other. Once you try it, we’re confident you’ll never go back.
